July wrap up

First off we are gearing up for Romancelahoma. I will be signing in Oklahoma City at the Red Dirt Romance book event. It will be on Saturday August 2nd. On Friday there will be writer panels happening all day that day. I love hearing from other successful writers and their tips.

We may not have done a lot of writing for the month of July, but we finished critiquing a couple of books for the group I'm in. You know what that means? Going into the month of August, I have no excuse not to keep working on my book. We will get major writing done for the month of August and finally get some movement on that book.

I did some major reading this month. Here are the books that I got done in the month of July:

I have some projects I want to work on, which include organizing writing documents I had found from my childhood. Many of these stories exist only on paper. I want to go through them and either get them saved somewhere or typed up and saved for possible use another day. I also have books that I have gone through and decided I didn't want to keep and, of course, new ones to add to the library. Of course we had to get a scanner to make that part of my life easier! Man, why do I love scanning things! Both projects will take a while to work through. So much time. I think that as long as I work on them little by little that they will eventually get done. So that is my plan to work on it little by little.

I'm taking a real hard look at August and I am going to be focusing on writing and getting back to that. Right now I have edits up to chapter 7 done and I have the book written up to chapter 19. After that I have about 6 more chapters to write. Of course this is just approximate due to maybe having to add chapters here and there. So really I don't have all that much, but edits man for some reason they slow way down in my brain. When I get back from this signing on the 4th I will be going hard on edits/writing. I want to get through the majority if not all of this book in this month. I have put it off for long enough. Its just pushing the other book further down the road. Which I know that is the one I am avoiding. But we don't need to do that anymore because we have a heading with that as well.

We are holding ourselves to that. If I'm not to at least writing the new chapters at the end or done by the end of August we are going to have to think of a punishment. 😈
